Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong has completed his permanent, long-term move from Udinese to Watford, Naija Times reports.
The English Championship club, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, confirmed the Nigerian’s arrival from the Serie A club on Tuesday afternoon.
“Nigerian international defender William Troost-Ekong has completed a permanent transfer to Watford, the Hornets are delighted to announce,” Watford stated on their official website.
“The 27-year-old centre-half, who has 42 caps and represented his country at the 2018 World Cup, has signed a five-year contract with the Hornets and becomes the latest new addition to Vladimir Ivić’s squad.
“Troost-Ekong has spent the past two years in Italy with Udinese, playing 66 times for the Serie A side since his arrival from Turkish Süper Lig outfit Bursaspor in 2018.”
Troost-Ekong is back in England, the country he left seven years ago with a move from Tottenham Hotspur U-21s to Dutch club Groningen in 2013.
He has since had spells in Norway, Belgium and Turkey.
