THE popular and influential publisher of the African Oil&Gas Report, Toyin Akinosho, lost his mother in the earlier hours of today.
Mrs Sarah Adebola Akinosho passed on at about 5 am at her Festac Town home, after a “brief illness.
She was four months short of her 94th birthday, having been born February 15, 1927.
She was 93, eight months before she passed on.
According to her only child, Toyin Akinosho, who is also the founder of the highly influential arts and culture activist group, Committee for Relevant Arts, CORA, the promoters of such popular initiatives as the quarterly Art Stampede and the Lagos Book & Arts Festival, LABAF, Mrs Akinosho is a thoroughbred Lagosian, “one of those who made Lagos thick in her younger days.”
A statement signed by Toyin, said:
“The AKINOSHO and NELSON families announce the glorious passing of their dearly beloved Mother, Sister, Grand Aunt, MRS SARAH ADEBOLA AKINOSHO, who went to be with The Lord today, OCTOBER 15, 2020.
“She was born in Lagos on February 15, 1927.
” She died at age 93 years, 8 months after a brief illness.”
She is survived by her son, Alfred Oluwatoyin Akinosho, sisters, brothers and other relatives.
“Burial announcement will be announced shortly.”
