NATIONAL: Nigeria records 930 new Covid-19 cases, highest daily jump — NCDC

THE Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 903 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease.

This represents the highest daily record since the incursion of the virus into the country in February, 27,2020.

It beats the recent record of 796 cases in a single day.

The NCDC, in its daily update on Wednesday, disclosed that 281 recoveries were recorded, and included 106 community recoveries in Lagos managed in line with guidelines.

There was no death recorded across the country.

21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases, with Lagos having 279 new infections and FCT, 179.

Also, Plateau and Kaduna States recorded 62 and 54 new cases respectively.

Others are from Imo (42), Jigawa (42), Rivers (38), Kwara (30), Nasarawa (19), Yobe (15), Ogun (13), Borno (10), Oyo (9), Niger (9), Ebonyi (6), Bauchi (6), Edo (5), Taraba (4), Sokoto (2), and Cross River (2).

As of Wednesday night, Nigeria’s total number of confirmed cases stood at 75,062.

While 66,775 patients have recovered, 1,200 fatalities have been recorded.
