ABUJA: PDP stages protest, urges Buhari to secure release of Kankara boys

THE National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus led supporters of the party on Thursday on a peaceful protest.

The protest was staged in front of the Party’s Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, to demand the safe return of over 300 school childre

Almost a week ago over 300 school children were abducted by terrorists from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State,

Speaking at the protest Uche Secondus. said the party, like most Nigerians, was traumatised by the callous action of the criminals who abducted the children

Secondus, however, demanded that  President Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress should stop using cosmetic approach to the abduction of the schoolboys.

He  added that APC  urged APC to do more than issue statements condemning the act by going all out to reunite the children with their parents.

Secondus said, “This is a peaceful protest to make the entire country and international community to be aware of what is going on in our country.

“And all we’re saying is that Buhari, bring back our boys from Katsina. It is important, we are in pain, the parents are in pain, the entire country is in pain,  we’re in agony, we are in sorrow.

“It is high time for the government of the day, the APC government to bring back our boys from Katsina.

“That is the bold statement by PDP today with this peaceful protest.”
