Wilfred Ndidi was once again outstanding for Leicester City when they held Manchester United to a 2-2 Premier League draw on Boxing Day.
The Nigeria international did not only protect the Leicester City defence brilliantly, he also played a role in one of his side’s goals.
Ndidi made seven tackles in the match, the most by any Leicester player in a single Premier League game this season, according to Squawka.
Hosts Leicester City scored through Harvey Barnes and an Axel Tuanzebe own goal, while United got their goals through Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.
Rashford, who had missed an open goal just two minutes in when he headed wide from close range, gave United the lead in the 23rd minute.
The England forward, 23, became the third youngest Manchester United player to reach 50 league goals after Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo when he confidently passed the ball into the net from a Fernandes touch.
Leicester City were level eight minutes later with Ndidi playing a key role.
The Super Eagles midfielder won the ball from Fernandes deep in United’s half and gave the ball to a teammate who in turn passed it to Barnes to hit an unstoppable left-footed shot from the edge of the box.
The first half ended 1-1 but United regained the lead in the 79th minute through Fernandes who stroked the ball past Kasper Schmeichel after being set up by substitute Edinson Cavani.
Leicester City were not done though as they equalised again when Tuanzebe touched Jamie Vardy’s ball past David de Gea with five minutes left to play.
The draw at the King Power Stadium was the first time this season Manchester United have dropped away points in the league and ended their run of 10 straight away wins.
The Foxes remain second in the table behind leaders Liverpool while United stay third.
