LAGOS: Tinubu not in France for treatment of Covid-19 related complications — aide

TUNDE Rahman, the spokesman to former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has debunked the reports making the rounds that his principal is receiving treatment for Covid-19 related complications in France.

Rahman said this against the background of speculation on social media that Tinubu contracted the lethal coronavirus days before the end of 2020 and was quickly rushed out of the country for treatment in France.

The unconfirmed report added that Tinubu, who is a National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has been admitted at a hospital in France but his status has been kept as a secret.

But reacting to the speculation, Rahman noted that his principal was fine and not even in France but London.

He also refuted the claim that the former Lagos governor is battling with COVID-19 or any other ailments.

He said, “That’s a lie from the pit of hell. Asiwaju is very okay. He is very fine and not sick.”

“He does not have Covid-19. If you must know, we have done Covid-19 test 15 times, each time he felt we had travelled and mingled with many people and could be vulnerable even though he always wore his face mask, but he has been certified negative 15 times.”

“Yes he is abroad. Not in France, but in London resting. So you can see the falsity in that information you talked about. Thank you.”
