NATIONAL: NCDC records 1,398 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

THE Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily reports on Wednesday said that Nigeria recorded a total of 103,999 cases of the novel coronavirus disease.

It stated that 1,398 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours across the country.

Nine new deaths were recorded while 981 recovered patients were discharged.

The NCDC said the discharges include 317 community recoveries in Lagos State, 241 in Kwara State, and 134 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.

22 states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded new cases on Wednesday.

Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll with 542 cases while the FCT recorded 131 cases.

Oyo State also reported 120 new cases with Rivers State recording 113 new infections.

Others are from Enugu (51), Nasarawa (41), Delta (39), Edo (39), Osun (33), Niger (31), Sokoto (23), Ondo (16),

Taraba (13), Ebonyi (12), Kano (10), Abia (9), Bayelsa (8), Bauchi (7), Imo (5), Katsina (3), and Gombe (1).

So far, there have been 82,555 recoveries while 1,382 fatalities have been recorded.
