IMO: No power will stop Okorocha from being Nigeria’s next president – Ex-aide

A FORMER commissioner for youths and Sports in the state, Kenneth Emelu, may have hinted at what is responsible for the frosty relationship between former governor Rochas Okorocha and his successor, Hope Uzodinma, by opening up on the presidential ambition of the former governor.

Emelu, who is a staunch loyalist of Okorocha, had declared yesterday that “no power will stop” Okorocha, from succeeding  Buhari, as the next president of Nigeria.

Emelu, who spoke when a crowd of supporters visited the former governor (Okorocha) at his Spibat mansion in Owerri, said “no power in Africa, even in the world” would stop a man whose time has come.

He expressed optimism that Okorocha would emerge the next president of the country.

There has been no love lost between Okorocha and Uzodinma since the latter assumed office last year.

Uzodinma had reversed some of the policies of Okorocha since he took the reins of power, through the injunction of the Supreme Court, from Emeka Ihedioha.

Last week, Uzodinma  sacked about 108 oil workers employed during the tenure of Okorocha.

He said they were “illegally employed”. This followed his decision to rename a private university belonging to the former governor.

But the bad blood between the duo came to a head when the state government ordered that the Royal Spring Estate purportedly owned by Okorocha’s wife be sealed.
