CHELSEA and Leeds United played out a 0-0 draw at Elland Road on Saturday as the Blues remain unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel.
The Premier League clash was the 12th Chelsea game under the German coach, and the Blues ensured they avoided defeat once again.
Tuchel is unbeaten in all 12 of his games in charge of Chelsea in all competitions, the joint-longest unbeaten start by a manager in the club’s history (Felipe Scolari also 12), according to Opta statistics.
As they have normally been under the former Paris Saint-Germain manager, Chelsea were hard to score against, and they restricted the normally free-scoring Leeds United to just one shot in the first half, their joint-lowest tally in the opening 45 minutes of a league match under Marcelo Bielsa (also 1 vs Brighton in January).
Chelsea were not much better in creating chances in the first half too.
The second half went in the same pattern, both sides struggling to open up the other. The best opportunity of the second half went to Kai Havertz but the German forward’s shot from inside the Leeds United box was saved.
With the one point, Chelsea stayed in fourth place with 51 points from 29 matches, just three points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham who have played two fewer games.
Leeds are 11th with 36 points from 28 matches.
