A SUSPECTED cult member and kidnapper, Moses Adelaja, who had been on the run for over a year following his involvement in the abduction and killing of one Chinese national has finally been caught.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the incident happened sometime in February 2020.
Adelaja’s accomplices were said to have been arrested by men of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team months earlier.
Adelaja was nabbed around 2.am on Saturday in the Emuren area of Ogun State during a sting operation, disclosed the police.
Lagos Command’s spokesman, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said Adelaja and his gang members kidnapped the Chinese at Okunowa, Ijebu, Ogun State but kept him in their hideout at Otta-Agbowa, Ikosi, Lagos.
He said, “They eventually killed the captive and dumped his corpse in Agbowa-Ikosi river. The corpse has not been recovered up till date. “
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the command’s Strike Team that arrested Adelaja to work with the IRT on the investigation into the case.”
