Burna Boy wins Best Global Music Album award at the 63rd Grammy

SINGING sensation today won the Best World Music Album award at the Grammy Awards with his successful album, Twice as Tall.

Twice as Tall won the award over records by Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).

Also, Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid fetched his first-ever Grammy prize for his role on ‘Brown Skin Girl’ off the 2019 album, ‘The Lion King’, at the Award. He won the award alongside Beyonce, who owns the song and featured artists, Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy. The award will also go to Jenn Nkiru who directed the video.

The official Twitter account of Grammy tweeted, “Congrats Best Music Video winner – ‘BROWN SKIN GIRL’ @Beyonce #BlueIvy @wizkidayo”.

The latest win marks Burna Boy’s first Grammy Award after being nominated last year.

His recent wins include, The MTV European Music Awards (EMA) for ‘Best African Act’, The All Africa Music Awards album of the year and winner, ‘Best International Act’ for the Black Entertainment (BET) awards and The 2020 Dutch Edison Award for ‘World Album’. Burna Boy’s work and recognitions establish him as one of the biggest international acts in the world.
