Ehumadu slammed for trying to raise N25m for Ernest Asuzu’s burial

NOLLYWOOD actor, Emmanuel Ehumadu has come under fire for canvasing for N25million donation for the burial of his colleague, Ernest Asuzu.

Speaking on how some people sit back to destroy efforts of others, actor Emmanuel said he would ensure the N25million is raised for the burial of his colleague and family welfare.

Reacting to the post, netizens slammed Emmanuel for not raising funds while Ernest was down with a stroke but eager to celebrate his death.

Prince Neddy wrote on Instagram, “Na now you Dey post am for people to donate money  for he burial when he was sick we did not see such things from you guys when he needed money many of una no turn up and you call yourself Gees my men my that… there is no sorry when the head is down show love to people while they alive not after death am not talking to you alone am talking to #nollywood actors generally and if my comments get you offended you can block me bro .I don’t give a fk.. let celebrate and help people while they are alive”

Another IG user wrote, “Nollywood actress are buying cars, house and other valuable properties while the actors are dieing and begging for money to survive from one sickness to another ihe nkea dikwa deep”

Ernest Asuzu, died few weeks back at the age of 37. His wife, Jennifer, who confirmed the news of his death to the media, said the actor slumped and never woke up. He had come down with a stroke in 2015 which affected his speech. He was also bedridden for three years. This affected his acting career and he was off the screen for many years.

In his last interview published in December 2020, Asuzu said his problem was spiritual.

He was also planning a return to Nollywood and music after an eight-year hiatus.

Asuzu began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’

Apart from acting, he was also a musician with the name El Cream. He is survived by his wife and two children.
