EKITI: Ex-surveyor-general’s widow abducted from residence, Amotekun joins search

GUNMEN, suspected to be kidnappers, have abducted Mrs Funmilola Osalusi, widow of the late former surveyor-general of the state, Oladapo Osalusi.

The abduction came barely a year after the death of the surveyor-general.

The widow was said to be in the employ of Ado Local Government.

A statement from the State Police Command said Osalusi was trailed to her house, located along Ado–Ijan Road, where she was abducted at the gate of her compound at about 9pm two days ago.

Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the kidnap on Monday, said police and other security agencies, including Amotekun Corps, had begun operations to secure her release.

Abutu said the woman was abducted from her residence near the office of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Polytechnic road, in Ado Ekiti metropolis by three gun-wielding men.

The police spokesman said, “The incident happened around 9:20pm in the evening.

“The armed men numbering three were said to have knocked the gate of the victim’s residence and tricked her outside.

“The Police Commissioner, Babatunde Mobayo, has deployed detectives to the bushes around where the woman was taken to rescue her out of the kidnappers’ den.”
