Sports minister pays tribute to ‘passionate’ Laloko

MINISTER of sports, Sunday Dare, has expressed his condolences for the death Kashimawo Laloko.

The former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation paased away on Sunday after a brief illness, according to his family.

Dare paid tribute to the late Laloko, who also worked with Gambia, and described him as one of Nigeria’s best coaches. 

“He was passionate, dedicated and a disciplinarian who discovered many talents,” the minister said in a brief statement on Monday.

“May his soul rest In peace.”

Laloko founded the Pepsi Academy in Lagos in 1992 and helped discover hundreds of talented players, some of who became full internationals, including Elderson Echiejile and Joseph Akpala.

He was 79 years old.
