GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike has sacked the state Commissioner for Environment, Igbiks Tamuno.
In a statement issued by the special assistant to the governor on media, Kelvin Ebiri today, the governor directed the sacked commissioner to submit all government documents and properties in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Environment.
Although no reason was given for Tamuno’s sacking, it may not be unconnected with an action that borders on dereliction of duty.
The commissioner, while presiding over a media conference on soot and air quality in the state, reportedly rushed out of the briefing and farmed his responsibility to his Permanent Secretary.
