FORMER Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has reportedly been attacked by gunmen in his home town.

It was gathered that Soludo was attacked at Isuofia during an interactive session between him and some youth of the Aguata Local Government Area .

The former Governor of the apex bank is running for the governorship of Anambra State on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

A source said that the two policemen attached to Soludo were shot dead by the gunmen.

“There is a serious stampede now in Afuzo area of Isuofia which is in Aguata LGA of Anambra state,” said an eyewitnesses.

Speaking recently in an interview with newsmen, Soludo said he relocated his family to the US during his time as CBN governor because he was receiving threat messages from those who were against his bank recapitalisation policy.
