THE State executive council has approved the release of over N9billion for the execution of various projects in the state.
Out the approved funds, N8.9bn was earmarked for the construction of the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange at the NNPC Mega Station, Rotary Intersection, Hotoro, along the Maiduguri Road in the metropolis.
The state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the weekly council meeting at the Africa House, Government House, Kano, yesterday.
He explained that the project was part of the present administration’s commitment to construct road networks to address increasing traffic congestion in line with its policy of transforming Kano into a mega city as well as boosting commercial activities.
According to the commissioner, N44.3m of the total approved fund would be used for the re-accreditation and resource visitation requirements for the Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta.
He said the departments that the mandatory re-accreditation exercise covered comprised Agricultural Extension and Management, Forestry Technology, Home and Rural Economics, Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology and Library.
