ENGLAND booked the last semi-final spot at Euro 2020 in style, dismantling Ukraine 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy on Saturday night.
The ruthless Three Lions owed their biggest win of the tournament to goals from Harry Kane, Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson.
Gareth Southgate’s side did not waste any time before asserting their superiority, taking the lead in the fourth minute.
The lively Raheem Sterling slipped a pass through the packed Ukraine to Kane, who got to the ball before Ukraine goalkeeper George Buschan and poked the ball past him.
Despite dominating the ball while Ukraine soaked up the pressure, England were slow and ponderous for the rest of the first half and could not extend their lead before the break.
They were however quickly off the blocks in the second half, bagging the second goal inside the first minute as Maguire headed home Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw’s inch-perfect delivery.
England were out of sight in the 50th minute, with Kane also scoring with a header from another Shaw delivery.
It was the left-back’s third assist of the tournament as well as the TottenhamHotspur striker’s third goal.
Substitute Jordan Henderson wrapped up the comfortable win with yet another header from fellow substitute Mason Mount’s corner kick in the 63rd minute.
England cruised through the last 27 minutes and kept their fifth straight clean sheet, a record in the European Championship.
England will play before their own fans at Wembley in the semi-final against Denmark on Wednesday.
