SUPER Eagles defender Valentine Ozornwafor has been sent out on loan by Galatasaray, according to reports in Turkey.
The Nigeria centre-back has been loaned out to fellow Turkish club Denizlispor for the season, newspaper Aksam reported on Wednesday.
The report claims Galatasaray got rid of the tall centre-back in order to make room in the squad for Victor Nelsson from FC Copenhagen.
There is a limit of foreign players in Turkish clubs and Galatasaray had to offload the Nigerian to accommodate the Dane in order not to exceed their foreign quota.
Nelsson has already started training with Galatasaray while Ozornwafor was not in the squad for Monday’s 2-0 league win over Giresunspor.
Ozornwafor, 22, played seven times for the Nigeria U-20s and has two senior caps.
He joined Galatasaray in July 2019 from Enyimba but was loaned out to Almeria in the Spanish second division for the 2019/2020 season.
Ozornwafor made only one appearance for Galatasaray last season.
Denizlispor are in the Turkish second division after getting relegated from the Super Lig last season for finishing bottom of the table.
