How suspected bandits bombed Kaduna-Abuja train — Shehu Sani

A FORMER lawmaker representing Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani, has narrated how he escaped death when the train he boarded traversing the Kaduna-Abuja rail was bombed.

In a post on Twitter today, Sani said the train ran over an explosive, which subsequently “damaged Kaduna-Abuja rail track” and “it took a miracle for us to escape”.

She revealed that a similar incident happened yesterday.

“Yesterday, terrorists attacked the Kaduna Abuja railway with an explosive & opened fire on the train, targeting the Engine Driver & the Tank. This morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail track. It took a miracle for us to escape,” Sani wrote.

Following the incident, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended its service on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.

The corporation said it is working to restore the service and will inform the public when the train starts running again.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, train services have been immediately suspended for the safety of our dear passengers. Efforts are in place to restore service. Further information would follow immediately, the service is restored,” the statement on its website read.
