This is how Leicester City can beat Brentford on Sunday — Iheanacho

SUPER Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has given a blueprint for how Leicester City will secure victory against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Foxes have won their last two matches — against Manchester United in the Premier League and Spartak Moscow in the UEFA Europa League — with the Nigeria international providing three assists.

Iheanacho believes his side’s hard work is paying off after a poor spell, and he wants the good form to continue.

“We’re really working hard,” the Super Eagles star told LCFC TV.

“The last game we did really well and then we came back in the second half and we’re looking forward to the next game now at Brentford on Sunday.”

The 25-year-old offers the approach that will give his side victory against the promoted side who have had an impressive first campaign in the Premier League so far.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us,” he admitted.

“We just need to play our game and we need to be ready for the fight. I think that we need to be fast, play quick and shift the ball from side to side.

“Hopefully it will be a good game. They are a good side but hopefully we’ll keep doing what we’re doing. We’ve started good now. ‘”Hopefully we will pick up from there and we will keep winning games now, do very well and give the fans something.”

Iheanacho is no stranger to Brentford, having scored the only goal of the game when Leicester City faced them in an FA Cup fourth-round tie in January 2020 – the two sides’ first competitive meeting in 17 years.

One year later, the Nigerian international was also involved as they met at the same stage of the 2020/21 competition, coming off the bench in a 3-1 win for the Foxes.

“I’ve watched them a couple of times now and they’ve been doing really well,” Iheanacho explained.

“But it’s nothing new to us. Of course, we know how they are, we’ve played them before. But I think they are a different side now, they know this is the Premier League.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us. We need to take them seriously.”

Leicester City are 12th in the Premier League table with 11 points, two spots and one point behind Brentford.
