Davido gives update on list of orphanages to get his N250m ‘giveaway’

MULTIPLE award-winning singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has given update on list of orphanages to get his N250 million give away.

“Verification is ongoing and reports will be out by Dec. 15th. Selection and disbursement by 18th/19th and the Press release should be 20th December.

“852 without orphanage names. 382 with orphanage names. The national union of Orphanages in Nigeria sent the list of orphanage homes within their coverage which to some extent is helping us in the verification process. God bless. We rise by lifting others,” he wrote on his Insta stories.

Davido was recently in the news for his kind gesture towards orphanages and foundations across the country when he received over 200 million naira donations from his colleagues, friends, and fans after two days. 

Precisely Wednesday, November 17, Davido had asked his friends and fans to donate N1 million each to him for his birthday. 

Although he later added that the aim was to raise N100 million to clear his Rolls Royce from the port, the singer received over N53 million in cash transfers in less than one hour.

After two days, about N201m was donated to his Wema Bank account. However, in a twist of event, the singer added his N50m to the N201m raised. 

He further inaugurated a committee that will disburse the total N250 million fund. Billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, was among those that participated in the cash donation to Davido. Others were His Royal Majesty, Oba Elegushi, Obi Cubana; Cubana Chief Priest; Fuji maestro, Pasuma; Larry Gaaga, Patoranking, Don Jazzy, Zlatan.
