FEMALE Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni the Entertainer has broken her silence over reports of gunshots during her show over the weekend. She says what happened could have been a different story altogether if not for God.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the singer was seen fleeing the stage in the company of her bodyguards at her show in Buguma Town, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was first reported that there was an attempted kidnapping during her show but according to the State Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, Iringe Grace Koko, the incident wasn’t a kidnap attempt.
Reports have it that some miscreants who had a misunderstanding at the venue of the show created a scene that made security agents fire gunshots.
The singer took to her Instagram page on Monday, January 3, 2022 to react.
She wrote, “(It) could have been a different story entirely but I’m grateful to God.
Myself and entire team are safe and back home now. Thanks for the calls and messages.”
Teni is known for her afro pop hit “Millionaire”, “Uyo Meyo” and “Askamaya”
