GOVERNOR Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today, said the state government will continue to play its role and do what is expected in supporting fallen heroes and heroines who paid the supreme price for Nigeria for remain one.
Sanwo-Olu stated this at the inter-denominational thanksgiving service to commemorate Year 2022 ArmedForces Remembrance Day Celebration, themed:”I Will Heal Their Land” from 2Chronicles 7:14, held
at The Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
At the thanksgiving service organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the governor said his government would ensure its keep the tradition in ensuring that the relationship between his administration, the people and Armed forces continue to grow praying that God would heal the land.
He thanked God for Nigeria and the state saying the main purpose was for each and everyone to play their roles to be a leader.
In his sermon, the Guest Preacher, Executive Secretary, Lagos Anglican Schools Management Board, Victor Olusa, said the theme was very relevant and appropriate to Nigeria’s situation adding that people should endeavour to do the right thing and not to castigate their leaders and they need a reorientation of values as God is ready to heal Nigeria.
Present at the thanksgiving service which featured bible readings, sermon, hymns, choir rendition, praise and worship, a minute silence for departed heroes as well as heroines, prayer for peace in Nigeria, were some members of the state executive council, Commissioners for Home Affairs, Anofiu Elegushi, and that of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso military officers, representatives of Nigerian legion among others.
