EBONYI: PDP names Umahi, Igwe’s ‘successors’

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has submitted names of its nominees to replace the sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, following their defection from the PDP to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Addressing a world press conference at the PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, National Chairman, Senator Dr Iyorchia Ayu disclosed that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has submitted names of nominees to be sworn in as Governor and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State.

When asked about the names submitted, he said “we are not going to release the names immediately. But the names will soon be made available to the press”.
