13 Super Eagles in camp for Ghana clash, begin training Tuesday

THE number of players in the Super Eagles camp steadily grew throughout Monday and by midnight there were enough to form a team.

As at the last count on Tuesday morning, there were 13 players in the Abuja camp of the squad ahead of the Qatar 2022 playoffs against Ghana.

The first leg of the tie is billed for Kumasi on Friday, with the reverse tie in Abuja next Tuesday.
Moses Simon was the last player to arrive in the camp on Monday night. 

The Nantes forward followed in Shehu Abdullahi and Francis Uzoho, who also reported in camp on Monday night.

Earlier in the late afternoon, captain Ahmed Musa, Oghenekaro Etebo, Daniel Akpeyi and Kelechi Iheanacho arrived to join the first set of players to hit camp.

William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka and Odion Ighalo were the first set of players in Abuja on Monday morning.

The team will have their first training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday evening from 6.30pm.

According to the team’s media officer Femi Raji, the training session will be open to journalists with strict Covid-19 protocols observed.

Journalists must either produce their vaccination cards or proof of negative tests to gain access to the training ground.
