THE Black Stars squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup playoffs against the Super Eagles has finally been announced.
The 27-man squad was officially unveiled on Tuesday, just three days before the first leg of the tie in Kumasi. The second leg is billed for Abuja next Tuesday.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey and Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew are the biggest names in the squad, while Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori return after missing the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in January due to injuries.
The squad invited by coach Otto Addo also includes three debutants.

Two of the new invitees, Denis Odoi and Elisha Owusu, were both born in Europe to Ghanaian fathers.
Former Fulham defender Odoi is 33 and has youth international experience with Belgium, while French-born Owusu is 24 with no prior international football.
The third debutant Dennis Korsah is a Hearts of Oak defender in Ghana’s domestic top flight.
The squad is made up of four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders and eight forwards.
Some of the other players in the squad include Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, who has scored six goals in his last seven games for second-tier German side St Pauli, Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo and Columbus Crew forward Yaw Yeboah, who has been recalled after missing the AFCON.
Roma’s young forward Felix Afena Gyan, Swindon Town goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott, Sporting Lisbon winger Issahaku Fatawu and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey are also in the squad.
The Black Stars will leave Accra for Kumasi on Tuesday and train three times at the match venue, the Baba Yara Stadium, under the supervision of head coach Addo, technical advisor Chris Hughton, assistant coaches Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and George Boateng as well goalkeepers’ trainer Richard Kingson.
