I have fibroids
I am a 25-year-old spinster. My doctor recently confirmed through a Scan that I have multiple small fibroids in my womb. This was why my Menstruation Period has been very irregular of late. My doctor offered me surgery but I am afraid of surgery. Kindly let me know what else I can do to solve my problem.

Your doctor is right. Surgery through ‘myomectomy’ which is an operation to remove fibroids while preserving the uterus is still the best option for women who have fibroid and want to have children in the future. Myomectomy is very effective when done by competent hands in a well- equipped hospital.

My low blood pressure
I became dizzy after the end of a week- long fasting period. On checking my Blood Pressure, I noticed that it was very low. Kindly advise me on what to do.
— Mulikat (by SMS)
It is most likely that your recently concluded fasting period must have caused your Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension) through dehydration or low blood sugar. Apart from your Blood Pressure, it is also important for you to check your Blood Sugar level. An increased intake of fluid and some salt may quickly correct your Hypotension. However, if the problem persists, you may need to see your doctor for a more detailed investigation.

My blood shot eye
I woke up two days ago to notice that my left eye ball had suddenly become blood shot. My Blood Pressure and Blood sugar are within normal limits. Kindly let me know what could be the cause of this.
— Okoye (by SMS)
Blood shot eyes usually are caused by allergy, eye fatigue, over-wearing contact lenses or common eye infections. Irritants like pollen, dust, perfume, smoke, and mould are usually responsible for aggravating our eyes and causing them to become bloodshot. Another common cause of bloodshoteyes is dryness. However, redness of the eye sometimes can signal a more serious eye condition or disease, such as uveitis or glaucoma. A red eye is usually nothingto worry about and often gets better on its own. Your doctor will recommend some eye drops to hasten its improvement and also advise you on what to do if the condition gets more serious.

Covid vaccine for the elderly
My father who recently turned 80 years is about to travel to visit some of his children abroad. Kindly let me know if it is safe for him to be vaccinated with the COVID-19 Vaccine.
— Ibukun (by SMS)
It has been confirmed that the Covid-19 Vaccine as well as the Booster doses are very safe for all age groups from 12 years to those in their 90s. Having said this, the usual preventive methods against the virus such as wearing of masks, hand washing and distance spacing still need to be practiced even after vaccination.

Can i use a sex toy?
I am a young widow of 25 years old. I love my husband dearly and can’t imagine remarrying for now. Since my faith does not allow me to have extra-marital sex, I want to know if I can use sex toys to take care of my sexual urges.
