TO grow the insurance sector, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has partnered with the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
During a courtesy visit to the Commission by NCRIB, Commissioner for Insurance Sunday Thomas stated that insurance brokers are an important segment of the business, and that their roles are being factored into the sector’s ongoing growth objectives.
Thomas mentioned a few issues that the council is addressing, one of which is the proper risk assessment.
He said that incorrect risk evaluation had resulted in a reduction in reserves and the industry’s collapse.
Edu, in particular, stated that the Council would soon implement the usage of a professional seal as a distinguishing symbol for all NCRIB brokers, which the Commissioner for Insurance praised.
He also underlined the brokers’ commitment to collaborate and support the Web Aggregators project, stating that it will lead to more creativity and a stronger presence for brokers.
