‘Naija still make am’: Davido features in Qatar 2022 World Cup official song

NIGERIAN superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido, is one of the artistes on the official song for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The song, titled ‘Hayya Hayya’, also features two other artistes, Trinidad Cardona and Aisha.

The uptempo single was officially released on Friday on major platforms, including Apple Music and YouTube, just ahead of the World Cup draw.

Davido, one of Africa’s most prominent singers, says he is excited to represent Nigeria at the World Cup after the elimination of the Super Eagles.

“Pleased to have featured and worked on the official @fifaworldcup Qatar 2022 song with @redone @trinidad @aishaofcl ❤️⚽! Naija no make am but… NAIJA STILL MAKE AM! 🇳🇬 #fifaworldcupqatar,” the Afrobeats superstar tweeted.

FIFA noted on Friday that more World Cup songs will be subsequently released after ‘Hayya Hayya’, which already had over 600,000 streams on YouTube few hours after it’s official release.

“Hayya Hayya (Better Together) is the first single of the multi-song #FIFAWorldCup Qatar 2022™ Official Soundtrack,” the football governing body stated.

The Super Eagles will be missing from the World Cup for the first time since 2006 after losing on the away goals rule to Ghana’s Black Stars in the playoffs.
