‘The pain is too much’: Ex-Super Eagles star Emenike cries out from hospital bed

EMMANUEL Emenike has made a disturbing social media post suggesting that he is undergoing a health crisis.

The former Super Eagles striker revealed that he was in severe pains today when he shared a video of himself in hospital.

The footage is only seven seconds long and soundless, but it shows Emenike in a hospital bed being attended to by a lady in medical gear, whose face is hidden.

There is no indication in the video of the nature of Emenike’s illness or how severe it is, but the caption is alarming.

“God is good, the pain is too much for me and my heart cannot carry it anymore,” says the caption of the short video posted on his verified emenike_9 account on Instagram.

Emenike, 34, played 37 times for Nigeria’s senior men’s national team between 2011 and 2015, scoring nine goals.

He was a key member of the Super Eagles squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 in South Africa, where he was the top scorer despite missing the final with injury. He was also in the squad to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The powerful striker played for a number of clubs in Europe during his career, including Mpumalanga Black Aces and Cape Town in South Africa, Karabukspor and Fenerbahce in Turkey, Olympiacos in Greece, West Ham United in England and Spartak Moscow in Russia.
