Troost-Ekong, Kalu set to return for Watford against Man City

WILLIAM Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu have recovered from injuries and are in contention to return to action this weekend.

The Super Eagles stars were both out of Watford’s Premier League clash against Brentford with knocks but have returned to training.

Troost-Ekong has returned to full training as Watford prepare for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City, after completing his recovery from a slight hamstring strain that kept him out of last Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Brentford.

The Super Eagles centre-back has made 16 Premier League appearances so far this season, but has not featured for the Hornets since the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Vicarage Road on New Year’s Day.

Also Cucho Hernández remains ruled out with a hamstring injury, but Kalu (ankle) and Francisco Sierralta (calf) – who were also forced to miss the Brentford defeat with minor injuries – both trained on Thursday.

The other Nigerians at Watford, Oghenekaro Etebo and Emmanuel Dennis, are both fit and should be in the squad on Saturday.

Etebo was an unused substitute against Brentford, while Dennis scored Watford’s only goal.

The Hornets are second from bottom in the Premier League table, seven points from safety, while they are up against champions and leaders City.
