NASD falls by N19.24b after VFD group price markdown

DUE to negative price movements and the exchange markdown of VFD Group’s share price, the NASD’s over-the-counter (OTC) exchange declined by more than N19 billion.

As a result, the OTC exchange market capitalisation fell from 1057.74 trillion to 1038.50 trillion.

According to market data, the NSI returned declined by 1.82 percent this week, closing at 793.05 points, down from 807.75 the week before. This resulted in a drop while the NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index ended the day in the red.

Investors exchanged a total of 79,754,591.00 last week, down 96.71 percent from the previous week’s 2,421,468,588.69.

The total value of trade activities for the year is currently $20,400,511,663.51. Meanwhile, overall volume traded last week was 29,989,044 units, down from 33,959,149 units the week before.

This resulted in a reduction of 11.69 percent in trading volume from the previous week, bringing the total volume traded for the year to 3,144,942,138 units.

Food Concepts PLC was the most traded stock by volume in the week, while Central Securities Clearing System PLC was the fifth most traded stock by volume traded.

In addition, Capital Bancorp PLC ranked first among the five most traded stocks by value for the week, while Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria PLC ranked fifth.

Niger Delta Exploration & Production PLC, which has a market capitalization of 40.81 billion dollars, completed the week at 225.00 dollars, up 7.14 percent from the previous close of 210.00 dollars.

Food Concepts PLC, with a market capitalization of $5.43 billion, completed the week at $0.93, up 6.90% from the previous close of $0.87.

NASD PLC, which has a market capitalization of $6.09 billion, concluded the week at 13.72, up 0.88 percent from the previous close of 13.60. The NASD OTC Securities Exchange market ended the year on a positive note, with a rise in performance.

The NASD Security Index has grown by 6.76 percent year to date. Year-to-date, total volume traded was 3,144,942,138 units in 1,150 deals, with total value moved of $20,400,511,663.51.
