PRESIDENTIAL candidates Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu and others will have to cough out N10m for billboards in Kogi State.
The State House of Assembly yesterday in Lokoja passed the Signage Agency Establishment Law which requires presidential candidates to pay N10 million to erect billboards and posters.
The legislators, who considered the bill clause by clause at plenary, said the law would regulate outdoor display of signage and advertisement in the state.
The law, which also aims at curbing indiscriminate pasting of posters on side walks, walls, bridges and public buildings in the state, requires all governorship candidates to pay N5 million, senatorial candidates to pay N2 million and House of Representatives’ candidates to pay N1 million.
House of Assembly and council chairmanship candidates are to pay N500, 000 each.
