Former PDP chairman, Ogbulafor, dies at 73

A former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, has passed away.

According to a source, Ogbulafor, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday night in Canada.

Ogbulafor, a former national secretary, rose to the position of national chairman of the PDP when Umaru Yar’ Adua was elected president in 2007.

His leadership courted controversy with statements attributed to him that were perceived as unfavorable. He was an inhabitant of Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.

He was cited to have said that he didn’t give a damn if Nigeria became a one-party state boasting that the PDP will rule Nigeria for at least 60 years. However, that dream was put to rest when the party was ousted from office in 2015 by the All Progressives Congress.

His death was confirmed by a senior government official from the Abia State Government this morning under the condition of anonymity.

“Yes, he is deceased”. He said, “He died in Canada”.
