Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis was brought on in the 88th minute for Forest as they chased the equalising goal.
Also tonight in the Premier League, Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo was a 46th minute substitute for Southampton who lost 1-0 at Aston Villa.
Jacob Ramsey scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute as Steven Gerrard’s side climbed up to 13th, level on points with Southampton.
The Saints also brought on 19-year-old Sam Edozie, the English youth international with Nigerian heritage, in an attempt to get back in the contest.
