Four injured Super Eagles players, including captain Ahmed Musa and experienced centre-back Leon Balogun, have been replaced in the squad for the friendly against Algeria.
The match between the former African champions will be held in Oran on September 27.
The other players who were initially in the 25-man squad but had to pull out due to injuries are Samuel Chukwueze and Henry Onyekuru.
In their places, according to an announcement by the Super Eagles media team tonight, are Valentine Ozornwafor, Emmanuel Dennis, Ebube Duru and Godwin Saviour.
Nottingham Forest forward Dennis is the most experienced among the replacement players, with the others mostly new to the Super Eagles.
Towering centre-back Ozornwafor, 23, is on loan at French second division club Sochaux from Belgian side Royal Charleroi.
He has made three appearances in Ligue 2 this season, two of them from the start.
However, Ozornwafor has not been involved since playing the last four minutes of Sochaux’s 3-0 win over Chamois Niort on August 27, almost a month ago.
Since then, he has been an unused substitute three times and not in the matchday squad for one game. Incidentally, Sochaux have won every game he was not part of, while they drew one and lost the other of the two he started.
Ozornwafor has two Super Eagles caps, both coming in friendlies last year.
On his part, 26-year-old Saviour is a former Flying Eagles forward who plays in the Portuguese top flight for Casa Pia.
He has started all seven league matches for the club this season, scoring twice from his left-sided forward position. He is yet to make an appearance for the Super Eagles.
Duru, 23, is a left-back who helped Rivers United win the Nigeria Professional Football League title in July.
Meanwhile, the majority of the Super Eagles players and their coaches are expected to arrive in Algeria tonight and tomorrow, with Chidozie Awaziem already in the country as the camp opened today.
