THE late British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II has finally been laid to rest in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Monday, September 19, 2022.
World leaders including American President Joe Biden and French President, Emmanuel Macron were present.
Her coffin was taken in procession following her state funeral at Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch on Hyde Park Corner.
She was laid to rest in a private burial service with her coffin lowered into the Royal Vault, while the Dean of Windsor said a Psalm and the Commendation.
The longest reigning British monarch was buried alongside her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and sister, Princess Margaret.
Her husband, Prince Philip’s coffin was moved from its place in the Royal Vault at Windsor Castle to reunite with her casket.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96. She welcomed four children with Prince Philip- King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. She has eight grandchildren namely Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Ldy Louise Windsor and James. She also has twelve great-grandchildren.
