THE Director/CEO, State Council for Arts and Culture, Idowu Johnson, has reiterated the state government’s commitment to developing and promoting arts and culture in the state.
Johnson made this known during the visit to his office by some members of the Egbe Agbaye, maintaining that the council has the mandate of promoting the state’s cultural values to the outside world.
He expressed the government’s readiness to support the forthcoming 10th anniversary of the Olokun Festival with regatta boat branding and troupe performance.
“The promotion of the state cultural values, both indigenous and traditional, is very key to the socio-economic development of the State in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of the present administration,” Johnson stated.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Oba Asagbemi Fasagbade kinni Amotekun keji Erujeje of Akoko land, disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Director on his appointment as Head of the Council and to seek the state government’s support towards the forthcoming 10th anniversary of the Olokun festival scheduled to hold next year.
