TWO Nigerians, Bright Okwara and Ferdinand Obi, were found guilty of armed robbery in the Central Region of Ghana and were given a 40-year prison term with hard labor.
They were sentenced on Monday, October 3, after being found guilty of robbing a mobile money vendor in broad daylight on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, by His Lordship Ebenezer Osei of the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court.
A total of GH11,800 is believed to have been taken by the convicts, who allegedly perpetrated the crime after the victim withdrew the money from a Kasoa bank.
After the victim withdrew the money from the bank, the two Nigerians followed his movements while riding around on motorcycles, the court was informed.
According to Detective Sargent Addai Boamah, the suspects followed the victim from Kasoa New Market to Market Junction, where they robbed him,
Despite the fact that the suspects were successful in stealing from the victim, he stated that he pursued them on his motorcycle, crushed them, and eventually caught them.
