Book on Ndidi Dike’s art and practice for presentation, Thurs Nov 3

NDIDI DIKE: Discomfort Zones, a monographic book on the art of the renowned artist, Ndidi Dike will be formally presented to the public on Thursday, November 3 in Lagos.

The presentation will be graced by eminent personalities in art production and patronage and will be with the distinguished presence of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, mni, the Obi of Onitsha. It is, however, strictly by invitation.

Published by Iwalewa Books based in Bayreuth, Germany, the book, according to its blurb, gives an extensive overview of the artistic work of Ndidi Dike one of Nigeria’s most dedicated and focused artist.

“Her work spans several decades and includes a variety of artistic methods: from her early paintings and wild sculptures and the engagement with the Nsukka school Aesthetics to her recent large-scale installations. What brings these works together is her precise observation of society’s condition within complex contexts of inequality  and political inadequacies
