Nigerian artiste Kizz Daniel will be one of the headline performers to entertain fans at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which kicks off on November 20.
The Afrobeats star is among the five leading musicians FIFA has enlisted to light up the atmosphere during the global showpiece, the world football governing body announced today.
“In less than a week the FIFA World Cup will kick off and bring excitement to the stadiums of Qatar,” FIFA said on its website.
“The FIFA Fan Festival might be even more exciting, as five international, award-winning musicians will perform on the Live Stage as part of the FIFA Sound line-up.”
Apart from Kizz Daniel, whose songs ‘Buga’ and ‘Cough’ are currently global hits, Diplo from the United States of America, Nora Fatehi from Canada, Trinidad Cardona from the US and Calvin Harris from Scotland will also perform on the big stage in Qatar.
Diplo will be the first to perform on November 22, followed one day later by Kizz Daniel.
Nora Fatehi will take the stage on November 29, Trinidad Cardona on December 1 and Calvin Harris on December 10.
“These artists are all slated to enrich the great programme of the FIFA Fan Festival over the 29 days of the tournament at Doha’s Al Bidda Park, among more than 20 additional top-level entertainers from around the world performing at the event,” FIFA added.
“The FIFA Fan Festival will provide new ways for fans to celebrate their shared passion for football while experiencing the best in music, entertainment, local culture, food, games and lifestyle in a true festival environment.”
