A LAWMAKER representing Mushin constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Olayiwola Abdul-Sobur Olawale popularly as Omititi is dead.
Olawale reportedly slumped during the kick off of the APC presidential rally in Jos, the Plateau State capital and was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.
Born March 17, 1964, he was 58. Though the cause of his death is yet to be known as of the time of this report.
Until his death, the two term lawmaker was Chairman, House Committee on Local Government Services. He became a member of LAHA in the 8th Assembly in 2015 and won his re-election for second term in 2019, as a member of the 9th Assembly.
The LAHA member who failed to secure the third term bid was in Jos to show his solidarity and support to the presidential candidate of his party – APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
After several delays, the APC on Tuesday, November 15, officially flagged off its campaign inauguration in Plateau for its presidential candidate Bola Ahmed .
The lawmaker attended St.Peters School, Ake in Abeokuta; NUD Grammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta; Tai Solarin College of Education (now Tai Solarin Universityof Education – TASUED), Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State; Ogun State University (Ago-Iwoye), Lagos Campus in Akoka, and Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the sad news of Olawale’s death came as a shock the people of his constitutency in Mushin and Odiolowo Ojuwoye, who are still mourning the sudden death of Mrs Modupeola Awoyongan.
Confirming the death news, his death, the Chairman of APC Mushin LGA, Babatunde Shittabey, said the news was a great shock to him when he heard it.
“I don’t believe it when I heard it until I confirmed from other people, this is a great loss to the APC family in Mushin and we prayed that this will end sudden death in our midst, Almighty Allah grants him enter rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.
