BANDITS were killed by military fighter jets yesterday, in the Rabah local government, Sokoto state.
For years, there have been attacks on Rabah, a local government in Sokoto’s east.
The region shared a boundary with the state’s Bakura local government area.
According to Abdullahi Zakari, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly who represents the area, numerous bandits were killed as a result of military shelling.
He stated that after the bandits were neutralised when they were coming home from their illegal operations.
He added that “they raided roughly 17 villages, killed three people, and rustled several animals.”
According to Zakari, The military operation, was the most successful in recent times.
“It is really commendable how they responded to our distress call, even deploying a fighter jet.
Bandits have been terrorizing our people for years unchecked, so we’re hoping they’ll keep up the pace.
According to our investigations, the bandits raided a few villages in Kware and Rabah before being heavily shelled at Rarah village.
Ibrahim Rarah, a local, reported that they discovered over 16 mutilated attacker bodies in one of the areas.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, declined comment on the event when reached and stated he would call back after receiving further information.
