Iheanacho scores 17th FA Cup goal as Leicester, Leeds advance

KELECHI Iheanacho continued his impressive scoring run in the FA Cup today to inspire Leicester City to the fifth round of the competition.

The Super Eagles forward came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as the Foxes defeated lower league Walsall at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.

Iheanacho came on in the 63rd minute to replace Zambia striker Patson Daka and was on target five minutes later to steer the 2021 FA Cup winners through.

The Nigeria international has now scored 17 goals in the competition since making his debut, more than any other player in that time frame.

He has scored the 17 goals in just 23 appearances.

In the other FA Cup early kick-off, Leeds United breezed past Accrington Stanley 3-1 to reach the fifth round for the first time since 2016.

Jack Harrison, Junior Firpo and
Luis Sinisterra struck to see the Premier League side past their third-tier hosts.

Striker with Nigerian heritage, Leslie Adekoya, scored a late consolation goal for Accrington Stanley with nine minutes left on the clock.
