MANCHESTER United forward Marcus Rashford has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for January.
Rashford has now won the award for a third time in his career, also claiming it in January 2019 and September 2022.
The Englishman won ahead of a seven-man shortlist that also included Dan Burn, Brennan Johnson, Riyad Mahrez, Solly March, David Raya and Bukayo Saka.
He played four times in the Premier League in January, with United picking up seven points from a possible 12, including a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford.
Rashford scored the winner in that Manchester derby, as well as netting in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth and 3-2 defeat at Arsenal. He also featured in United’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.
His tally for the season is now 18 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions, with nine of those goals coming in the Premier League.
Rashford won the award after the public’s votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
He is the only player to have won the award twice this season, with Erling Haaland, Miguel Almiron and Martin Odegaard claiming it once each.
