NAPOLI have reportedly increased their asking price for Victor Osimhen if they decide to sell their hitman.
The Nigeria international has been in demand from Europe’s elite clubs in recent weeks, including Chelsea and Manchester United, but the stance from Napoli has always been that he is not for sale.
However, there have been hints that if they were to cave in to pressure, they would demand between €100 million and €120m for the striker who has registered 16 Serie A goals and four assists in 17 appearances this season.
Il Mattino, a Naples-based newspaper, reported today that the speculated fees will not even be enough to prise away the 24-year-old Super Eagles striker.
The newspaper led with Osimhen today and claimed that Manchester United were making serious attempts to take the leading position in the chase for the Serie A top scorer.
According to the report, the Red Devils tried to get ahead of the other interested clubs by making a move in January but Napoli were not interested.
Il Mattino added that Napoli are getting prepared for a summer ‘auction’ and they will be looking to sell Osimhen for around €150m.
The prolific Super Eagles striker joined Napoli for €80m in transfer fee and add-ons from Lille in September 2020.
