C’RIVERS: NLC new chair assures members of an inclusive govt

THE Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress has elected Comrade Gregory Ulayi as its new state chairman.

Ulayi defeated his closest rival and outgoing chairman, Comrade Ben Ukpepi, in a closely contested poll.

The Returning Officer of the election, Comrade Benson Ukpah, announced Gregory Ulayi as winner after collation of result.

“Out of 528 votes cast, Comrade Ben Ukpepi scored 139, whereas Gregory scored 339 votes,” Ukpah said.

Speaking after the election, Ulayi assured members of the union of an inclusive government.

He said, “I shall operate an open door policy where the inputs of union members would not be toyed with.”
