MANCHESTER City have been named as the latest club to show an interest in Victor Osimhen.
The Super Eagles striker has emerged as one of the hottest players in Europe this season following his exploits with Napoli, and the big spenders are all reportedly after his services.
Manchester United and Chelsea were the first two clubs reported to be keen on taking the Nigeria international to the Premier League.
Paris Saint-Germain were believed to have also made their intentions known recently, aiming to add the prolific 24-year-old to their star-studded forward line of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
Now, English champions Manchester City are reportedly plotting a move for Osimhen, despite the club having in their squad another centre forward similar to the Nigerian in Erling Haaland.
Sky Sports Germany claimed today that City have held talks with Osimhen’s representatives with a view to adding him to Pep Guardiola’s expensively-assembled squad.
The outlet added that United, Chelsea and PSG have also held talks at different times with Osimhen’s agents.
They however insisted that Bayern Munich, who were also previously linked with Osimhen, have not been as keen as the others.
Osimhen is currently the leading scorer in Serie A with a staggering 19 goals and four assists in 22 appearances as Napoli march on relentlessly towards their first Italian top flight title in 33 years.
He joined Napoli from Lille in September 2020 for €80 million and it is believed it would take in excess of €120m to tempt the club to let him leave.
