Pandemonium as police attempt to arrest Portable

IT was pandemonium today as police operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism unit of the Nigerian Police Force, Ogun State Command invaded the Odogwu Bar of controversial street artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.

The singer was seen in a viral video querying the police operatives on why he was being arrested and the invasion of his business premises.

In the clip, the Zeh master, was recorded defying arrest while boasting to be a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and threatened to call the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Reputed for his lewd lyrics and confrontational persona, the Zazuu crooner did not waste time to tell the police operatives that he is a superstar, celebrity and that he built the bar with hard-earned money from music.

His words, “I am a celebrity and I work for the APC. You don’t have any right to walk into my office and tell me that I am under arrest.”

The self-proclaimed Dr. Zeh, further alleged that a cyber fraudster (Yahoo Boy) who is envious of his business within the community was responsible for calling the Police.

According to him, the said Yahoo Boy used to be someone he helped from time to time.

Recall that in June last year, the Ogun State Command of the Nigerian Police Force ordered the musician to report himself at the nearest police station, over a video clip circulating on social media, where it was alleged he organised some youths to beat up a young man.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police said that the incident happened somewhere within the state some days before the order was issued.

Oyeyemi explained that the young man was inflicted with bodily injury as a result of the beating. He described the act as barbaric, unruly, and unbecoming of Okikiola, who he said ought to be a role model for the youths.

In another incident, Portable claimed that he founded the One Million Boys, a cult group terrorising residents in parts of Lagos State. He was said to have shared a video of himself on social media where he claimed he created the notorious cult group, although the video has since been deleted.

“Open your ears and hear me; have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys? I’m their founder, go and ask Sammy Larry,” he boasted while speaking in Yoruba.

Following the claim, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, directed authorities of the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the claim and ensure necessary legal action was taken.
